Administrative Assistant/ Social Media Coordinator

Role Summary

The Administrative Assistant/Social Media Coordinator provides administrative, clerical, reception, and marketing support to the Rowland Farms office team. The position is based at the Taber, Alberta head office and works closely with the Office Manager, Location Managers, and other staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain company social media platforms and website content.

  • Assist with marketing initiatives and promotional materials.

  • Attend trade shows and industry events as required.

  • Answer and direct phone calls, emails, website inquiries, and in-person inquiries professionally.

  • Take messages and distribute correspondence, mail, and courier packages.

  • Prepare and type forms, letters, reports, marketing materials, and other documents.

  • Maintain organized office records, filing systems, and calendars.

  • Coordinate meetings, interviews, workshops, and office events, including boardroom bookings.

  • Order and maintain office supplies and ensure reception/common areas remain tidy.

  • Assist with data entry and report preparation as required.

  • Support Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Logistics staff during absences.

  • Receive and monitor inbound and outbound shipments.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 diploma/GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum 3 years of receptionist or administrative experience.

  • Strong knowledge of office procedures and customer service practices.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and general office software.

  • Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and record-keeping abilities.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently.

  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.

Assets

  • Experience with website management, marketing or graphic design.

  • Farm experience with knowledge of the agricultural industry and farm operations, is considered a strong asset.

  • Ability to communicate in low German.
